The Trump agenda is once again going after environmental protections. Monday E.P.A managers announced that Energy Start would be eliminated. This program certifies that dishwashers, refrigerators, dryers, and other home appliances are energy efficient.  Paul Gunning, the director of the E.P.A. Office of Atmospheric Protection, said that the Energy Star Program and all other climate work, outside of what’s required by statute, is being eliminated. For the last 33 years, this program’s blue label indicates to consumers that an appliance has met energy efficiency standards set by the federal government. It was created under the first President George Bush in 1992.

Park Service programs dealing with climate have been targeted because they touch on issues the Trump administration has opposed addressing or D.E.I or “LGBQ.” Dozens of National Park Service grants are on the chopping block including several whose purpose is to protect public lands from the effects of climate change. These include grants to universities, state historic preservation offices, tribes and youth corps.

Since the start of Trump’s second term, he has targeted various large law firms who represent clients he doesn’t like and threatened them with crippling their businesses by barring them from representing clients before the federal government. Some capitulate and some take him to court.
