CCT is a unique and compelling 7-week, highly interactive process to:
-
Cultivate compassion, empathy, and kindness for yourself and others.
-
Expand your resilience to stress and burnout.
-
Develop your strength to respond to life’s challenges with clarity and compassionate action.
During each 90-minute in-person session, you will:
-
Explore training your mind and develop skills for relating to yourself and others by intentionally choosing compassionate thoughts and actions.
-
Participate in discussion and guided meditation practices to develop loving kindness, understanding, and compassion.
-
“Real-world homework” opportunities that nurture compassionate thoughts and actions.
CCT supports your own health, happiness, and well-being.
-
Research suggests that by increasing self-compassion, CCT can reduce stress, anxiety, depression and increase connections with others.
PLEASE NOTE: CCT involves daily guided meditation. A commitment to practicing between meetings and attending all sessions is strongly recommended to gain the full benefits of the process.
CCT was developed by Dr. Thupten Jinpa (principal English translator for His Holiness the Dalai Lama) at Stanford University, in collaboration with a team of contemplative scholars, clinical psychologists, and researchers.
