First U Glitter Blessings at Louisville Pride – Saturday, September 6 Bardstown Road ( our booth will be in front of the Sherwin Williams across from Mid City Mall and our hours will be from 11 to 630) Join in to support our UU friends at First U to welcome our LGBTQ community!

The First U Ministry Council is organizing a First U booth at this year’s Louisville Pride on Bardstown Road on Saturday, September 6 where UU clergy – and some laypersons – will be offering free (biodegradable) Glitter Blessings.
Glitter Blessings are much like they sound. In most cases it will be a minister who places a daub of glitter on someone who seeks a blessing. The blessing is a sacred affirmation of the person who seeks it – and that person chooses where the glitter is placed. It can be silly or holy – and because it’s often BOTH at once, it can be surprisingly emotional. Rev. Liz, the new First U minister, and the clergy team she is assembling will be in charge of the decision making as to how the blessings happen.
And this is your invitation to help create that positivity and put it into the world!
Note: All Peoples folks are invited to show up and promote All Peoples at this booth. Rev. Bruce may be coordinating this invitation with Rev Liz. The proposal to the First U Ministry Council for the funding expressly notes that All Peoples folks may join us in the booth to promote Unitarian Universalism and All Peoples congregation. This is purely optional. It’s not a burden or expectation, but if this suits you or others on your welcoming or new member team (or anyone), they’re welcome and you’re welcome to just do your thing without planning and organizing or any obligation to provide X number of volunteer hours.
