Linda Susan Guss Obituary

Linda Susan Guss, 76, of Prospect, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 10, 2026, surrounded by her family after a long illness.
Linda was born on August 10, 1949, in Louisville, Kentucky, the only child of Richard Greenrose and Mary Louise Greenrose.
Linda dedicated her life to caring for others as a registered nurse. She retired after many years of service, including her work with the Visiting Nurse Association, where she also led the organization’s flu vaccination program. In addition, she taught CNA classes through the Red Cross. These experiences led to the formation of her cherished XRC lunch group, whose companionship she greatly valued.
A passionate gardener, Linda was a Master Gardener and a founding volunteer of the Sensory Garden project at the Louisville Nature Center, a role she deeply enjoyed. She was also an active member of the Beechmont Garden Club. Through her gardening work, she formed many lasting friendships, including with Janie Kanzler and Marsha Flores.
Linda was a creative spirit who loved crafting, drawing, and painting, and she generously shared her talents with others. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, Gary, creating many treasured memories together. She found meaningful connection and friendship through her RePairs community.
She was a devoted member of All Peoples Unitarian Universalist Church, where she was active in the Caretakers group and built many dear friendships.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mary Louise Greenrose.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gary; her children, Charles M. Clark Jr. (Angelique), Brent Russell Clark (Erin), Sarah Harper (Ashley), Amanda Guss, and Tracy Martin (Sean); and her beloved grandchildren, Ethan and Joshua Clark, Donivan and Lucas Clark, Zachary and Abby Harper, and Woods England, Eowyn England, and Bruce Martin.
In accordance with her wishes, Linda will be cremated. A Celebration of Life and reception will be held at All Peoples Unitarian Universalist Church at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Jefferson County Master Gardeners Sensory Garden Project or to Gilda’s Club, both of which were meaningful to Linda.
