The Justice Center works to strengthen congregational efforts to promote reproductive rights and justice while expanding opportunities for congregations to actively support LGBTQ+ advocacy.
We facilitate Transpire, an interfaith network standing in support and solidarity with transgender individuals.
- Transpire focuses on three main areas:
- Supporting congregations in becoming more welcoming and affirming for transgender individuals seeking places to worship, including equipping congregations to address spiritual trauma.
- Empowering congregations to visibly, vocally, and actively demonstrate public support and solidarity with our transgender siblings.
- Guiding congregations that are discerning how to best welcome and support transgender and gender-queer people.
Transpire plans regular resource fairs hosted by area congregations, a series of community listening sessions, and annual interfaith events for Transgender Day of Remembrance and Transgender Day of Visibility.
