INDIVIDUAL EFFORTS MATTERED THIS MONTH

Laura Schweitzer, PhD                                                                               April 2026

Kudos to the FBI agents who stood up for the truth about their boss, Kash Patel. After Sarah Fitzpatrick of The Atlantic published an article detailing misconduct including misuse of funds and excessive use of alcohol by Kash Patel, Patel filed a lawsuit against her. What happened next was a surprise! FBI agents secretly sent Sarah lots of ADDITIONAL EVIDENCE against their boss!

Robbin Warner and Katherine White of Network Nova and Friday Power Lunch are

largely responsible for organizing the fight for Virginia redistricting and that relied heavily on phone banks. And they won! Phone banks work! If you have not done one – try it – they are a lot of fun!

Marvin Dunn, a professor at Florida International University has defied state board of

education mandates to eliminate discussions of inequities and racism. He leads the

“Teach the Truth” movement in Florida.

Two weeks before it was due to shut down, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette was saved by Bob Cohn, CEO of the Venetoulis Institute.

According to Indivisible’s post-protest survey, 32% of over 8M protestors at the recent No Kings rallies were first timers. If you still have not joined us on the street, join us next time. It is reaffirming!

Connie Ballmer, a believer in a free press, gave NPR its largest donation ever – $80

million.

A Russian refugee, wanting to remain unidentified, thanked San Jose Indivisible in a

public venue for providing him a community and giving him hope.

Miss Rachel (those of you with toddlers know who that is) has been working relentlessly to shut down the Dilley family detention center and she was able to single handedly get the release of a 12-year-old being held in custody there.

Military leaders in USCENTCOM which “directs and enables military operations and

activities with allies” are standing up to Trump by rejecting Hegseth’s suggested targets after Trump’s rave about obliterating Iran.

And what about that sculptor/builder who put the golden throne (toilet) on the National Mall in early April?

The Nation That Chose War

By J.T. Richardson

America tells itself a particular story about violence, that it goes to war reluctantly, as a last resort, and comes home as soon as the job is done. The data tells a different story. Since 1951, the United States has been engaged in active military conflict for roughly 93 percent of those years, across more than 20 major operations: Korea, Vietnam for two full decades, the Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan for twenty years ( the longest war in American history), plus ongoing operations in Syria, Somalia, and Yemen. At the height of the post-9/11 era, the country was running four or five simultaneous wars. There was no reluctance on the ledger. There was just the drumbeat, year after year, of the country choosing to send its treasure and its people to fight.

This is not an argument about pacifism. It is an argument about arithmetic.  CLICK FOR MORE…
