Listen, Learn, Act for Racial Equity in Louisville

Please join us for the upcoming Listen Learn Act class that begins February 14th. In this six week course, we’ll examine job equity and financial challenges for Black Louisvillians. We’ll clarify the role of white people as allies in the cause of justice. Finally, we’ll identify actions we can take to support the implementation of “A Path Forward” and help reverse systems of racial oppression.

The Path Forward notes that the Black community across Louisville and in the West End, in particular, deserves the opportunity to create more jobs and wealth. In this class, we’ll hear from business and financial experts about the cha llenges to building Black wealth and efforts being made to support stability and full participation in the financial arena.

We are so excited to have these outstanding guest speakers for the class,

  • Dr. Kish Price, the new CEO of the Louisville Urban League;
  • Dave Christopher, founder of AMPED, West Louisville’s first Black business tech incubator;
  • Dr. Wayne Meaux, Chair of the Business/Entrepreneurship Department at Simmons College;
  • Keisha Allen, Metro Louisville Forward, Sr Economic Development Manager
  • Tawana Bain, founder of the Global Economic Diversity Development Initiative (GEDDI), CEO of TBain & Co, owner of the Black Jockey Lounge and Today’s Woman magazine.

This free class will be offered as a hybrid — you can join us either in-person at the Earth and Spirit Center (1924 Newburg Rd., Louisville KY), or via Zoom. We’ll meet Tuesday mornings from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.  To register, Click Here
