Save Bernheim Now Upcoming Events and Update – Important News!

Hello All,

Happy Spring, we hope that this email finds you well. Secretary of Energy-Environment

DELIVERY OF (OVER) 10,000 PETITIONS!!

Three Coalition members – Maggie Hettinger, Terrell Holder and Deborah Novgorodoff, met with the Secretary of Energy & the Environment, Rebecca Goodman and her Deputy and her General Counsel on March 28.  We discussed the LG&E pipeline through Bernheim, the reasons we feel so strongly that this should be stopped, and the need for sustainable development.  While there are no magic answers to stopping the pipeline, we have ideas and will continue to work toward a sustainable, environmentally friendly future for Kentucky.  We delivered a copy of the over 10,000 signed petitions and asked her to give them to Governor Beshear.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Two events are upcoming, and we need you to send notice of them to your friends, colleagues, and organization members!

April 9 Save Bernheim and No More Fossil Fuel Spokesperson Training      no more fossil fuel training

On April 9, we will hold an online training that will help attendees speak about these critical issues knowledgeably and support those who join us at tabling events throughout Louisville and the surrounding counties during the coming year.  We have quite a few of these events lined up and need folks to help staff the tables.  Many of these are at Bernheim – we hope that supporters will be inspired to enjoy a day at Bernheim while spending a couple of hours talking to folks about these important issues!  Here’s the link to sign up for the April 9 event:

April 22 – Earth Day “No More Fossil Fuel” Protest in Front of LG&E Headquarters

Join us on Monday, April 22 from 4:30-6:30 in front of LG&E — what better way to celebrate Earth Day than demand a sustainable future from our local utility.  No New Fossil Fuel Infrastructure, Stop the LG&E/Bernheim Pipeline, Fair Net Metering for Solar, and Put Solar on Louisville Metro Buildings are some of the messages we plan to deliver.  Let’s put the “PUBLIC” back in Public Utilities!

Please share this far and wide.  LG&E-Bernheim rally

Best,
