Sign Up to Volunteer!! All Peoples Celebrates the Kentuckiana Pride Festival with First Unitarian Church! June 20th

2026 Kentuckiana Pride Parade

Saturday June 20 at noon
All Peoples members and friends will be joining by our friends from First Unitarian Church and many visiting Unitarian Universalists (who are in Louisville for our General Assembly) in proudly and publicly showing our support for the LGTBQ+ community by having a float and marching together in this year’s Pride Parade. Our group will meet in the lineup area (along Market Street near the intersection of Shelby Street) at 11:00am. Carpooling to the parade will be available from the church parking lot on June 20 at 10:30am. If you’d like to help with assembling our float, please contact Justice Center
It’s always  a bit chaotic the morning of the parade 😉  the organizers line up the groups and floats near the intersection of Market and Wenzel. (the parade route goes east on Market).  However, we won’t know the precise location for our float to line up until around 10:30 that morning.
Here’s our plan:  Rus will arrive and learn where our float will  line up. I’ll then communicate that with Tony (who’s driving the pickup and the trailer) and get him settled.  I will then communicate out to the key folks at First U and All Peoples.
To find out where the float is on the morning of the  Parade (after 10:30):
  • First U folx please contact Jim Hennigan (864-350-1378  ) and Marka Storm Silvarosen (502-654-4863)
  • All Peoples folx can contact myself (502-494-9044) or Tony Sweazy ( 502-640-0110)
Please plan to arrive early to help decorate the float.
The parade starts at noon.
What to bring with you:
  • A water bottle (we’ll have a full water cooler, but will not be providing water bottles)
  • consider a hat
  • sunscreen (we will also have sunscreen)
  • snacks
  • lots of energy
  • your passion for justice
  • a good dose of patience
There are several restaurants in the area that will be open for lunch which also allow us to use their bathrooms.  There will also be a crazy lot of people there so  expect for there to b long lines.
